Your R8TRO vinyl wall mounts aren’t just easy to install, they are easy to remove, too. Plus, if you clean them up, you can simply add new tape and reuse them elsewhere. Here is how to take them down safely.

Step 1: Safety First

Before you do anything else, slide your vinyl album out of the holders. Place your record safely aside. You want clear access to the mounts without risking a scratch on your favorite LP.

Step 2: Separate from the Wall

Take a thin, sharp knife (or a putty knife). carefully slide it behind the plastic mount, right into the foam tape layer.

  • Gently use a sawing motion to cut through the foam tape.

  • Don't pull the mount straight off the wall! Cutting the tape is much safer for your paint and plaster.

Step 3: Clean the Wall

Once the mount is off, you might see a little tape residue left on the wall.

  • Usually: The tape comes off cleanly during the cutting process.

  • If it sticks: Use a hairdryer on a low heat setting to warm the adhesive, it will peel right off.
Alternatively, a little sticker remover works wonders.

Step 4: Reset & Reuse

The best part about R8TRO holders? They are durable. To reuse them, simply peel the leftover tape residue off the back of the mount with your thumb or fingers. It usually rolls off easily. Once clean, just apply a new strip of strong double-sided tape, and they are ready for your next home!
